A few years ago, Nidhi Gupta walked into a small networking event for VPEs and CTOs. She expected a room full of men. Instead she was surrounded by women engineering executives. After more than fifteen years as an engineering executive in the Valley, she didn’t know so many other women like her existed. That was the moment.

Heather Broome had been seeing the same thing from the other side. As a recruiter who places VPs of Engineering, she knew how few women got considered for the roles — and how much of that was a network problem rather than a talent problem.

They met for lunch in May 2019. SheTO was the result.
